October Greetings
October Greetings from Joe Davis
Hey there, it's Joe, your friendly neighborhood auto shop owner, here to talk about something that has nothing to do with cars for once (crazy, right?). With October rolling in, the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and there’s this feeling in the air that makes you want to grab a pumpkin-spiced whatever and slow down a little. But let’s be real: life doesn’t always slow down just because we want it to.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to live a happy, rewarding life. Sounds like a big question, but it’s actually pretty simple. It’s not about the fancy stuff or how many problems you can fix in a day (though I admit, I do like fixing things). It’s about finding joy in the small, everyday moments.
You know what I’m talking about—those little things we usually overlook. Like the sound of your kids laughing, or when you nail the perfect cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Heck, even the feeling of getting into bed after a long day—there's something magical in that! We often get so caught up in chasing “big” happiness that we forget it’s built from a thousand small moments.
Now, don’t get me wrong, tough times are a part of the package. Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and it feels like you’re stuck on the side of the road with no tow truck in sight. In those moments, it’s easy to focus on what’s wrong instead of what’s right. But here’s a little secret: even in tough times, those small moments of joy are still there, waiting for you to notice them.
October’s a perfect reminder of this. Sure, the days are getting shorter, and the weather’s getting cooler, but it’s also a time to appreciate the simple beauty around us—whether it’s nature doing its thing or that first sip of hot cider. So, take a breath, look around, and enjoy the season for what it is.
I know it can be hard to stay positive when things aren’t going your way, but the key is to remember that life is a series of moments—some tough, some good, and a whole lot of in-between. The trick is to focus on the good ones, and find something to laugh about every day. After all, laughter might not fix a broken axle, but it sure makes the ride smoother.
So, this October, let’s all try to be a little more like the trees—let go of what we don’t need and trust that something beautiful is just around the corner.
Until next time, stay light, stay laughing, and keep looking for those small joys.
